US Boeing defense workers slated to strike after rejecting latest offer | US news

The International Machinery Association and the Aviation Workers’ Association said that more than 3,200 unionized workers rejected Boeing’s last offer in Boeing’s St Louis region, and will strike in Monday midnight.
Tom Boelling, the union’s business representative, deserves a contract that reflects the critical role they play in the defense of our nation, ”said Tom Boelling 837 members of the IAM Region.”
According to the company, Boeing sent a new contract proposal to the union with some small compensation changes that would benefit senior union members. The proposal also maintained current overtime policies, which Boeing proposed to be amended in the latest contract proposal.
The union rejected the previous proposal, saying that the proposal was insufficient.
Boeing did not immediately respond to the request to comment outside of regular working hours.
Workers bring together Boeing’s fighter and MQ-25, which is developed for the US navy.
This would be the first strike that Boeing has faced in St Louis Defense Center since 1996.
Boeing’s defense department expands the production facilities in the St Louis region for the new US Air Force Hunter F-47 after winning the contract this year.
