Why didn’t the media call alleged Invasion Day attack terrorism?

A device containing nails, chemicals and ball bearings “with the potential to explode and injure or kill many people” was thrown at an Invasion Day rally in Perth by a 31-year-old man on Monday. WA Police claim.
Police charged the man with one count of unlawful act or omission with intent to cause harm (endangering the life, health or safety of any person) and one count of making or possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances, as they released CCTV footage depicting an object being thrown into a crowd of 2,500 people.
