There is a flood -like situation in many areas Rajasthan. People are worried. Friends, did you wonder why Sandy Rajasthan suddenly started drowning in water? Why do floods and rains cause destruction in places where Barmer, Bikaner, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur registered in Jodhpur? And if the desert can drown, then what will happen to the plains?
Rain in Rajasthan broke a 69 -year record. In 2024, Rajasthan received 156 percent more precipitation from the average. Until July 2025, there was 177 percent more rainfall. And now in August, it’s always raining. This year, Dausa received 1410 mm rain, 75 percent more than the average rainfall in Delhi. 18 dams in Rajasthan were overflowing. 22 out of 30 regions are directly affected by monsoon.
Global warming is the first reason why more rain is new in Rajasthan. Because as the temperature increases, the amount of humidity in the air increases, then suddenly it starts to rain intensely. The second reason is Monsoon’s tendency towards the West, because Rajasthan, deputy and Gujarat are getting more rain. And the third reason is local level changes because more rain occurs.
The most affecting is the low pressure area of the Gulf of Bengal. In fact, in India, the monsoon has two branches. Arab Naval Branch and Gulf of Bengal. The Gulf of Bengal brings winds loaded with moisture to the northwest, starting from East India and reaching the northwest. When these winds hit the Himalas, they rise and cool and cause rain.

Previously, the winds loaded with moisture from the Gulf of Bengal were flowing towards the east, which caused Bihar, Assem and Odisha to more rain. However, in the last 6-7 years, it has changed its model. Now it is flowing in the west direction. That’s why there are too many rain in Rajasthan. Previously, it rained for 15 to 20 days, but now it is constantly raining for 2 months.
In Rajasthan, the risk of flood increases as soon as it rains. This is because there is not much arrangement for water storage. Rajasthan also has less river than other states. Especially in the desert areas, there is a lack of perennial rivers. This is the reason why a flood -like condition is a little more rain. In the desert of Rajasthan, excessive rain and floods became a warning of climate change.
