Why Jio, Anthropic, Ericsson and others have formed the Trusted Tech Alliance — explained

A group of like-minded global companies working in areas from connectivity, cloud infrastructure to semiconductors, including Jio Platforms and Anthropic, have come together to form the Trusted Technology Alliance, according to a joint statement.

According to the news agency, the alliance was launched at the Munich Security Conference, when 15 companies from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America joined forces to collaborate across borders. PTI.

The group will work around common principles to create a trusted technology ecosystem spanning everything from connectivity and cloud infrastructure to semiconductors, software and artificial intelligence.

What does the alliance want?

The news stated that these principles aim to ensure that all companies in the alliance follow the same transparency, security and data protection commitments, regardless of which country the supplier comes from, helping to build trust and ensuring that the benefits of technology reach people around the world.

As technology changes faster than ever and the global environment becomes more complex, countries and customers are seeking greater reliability and flexibility in technology providers and the services they offer. They want stable, secure and reliable systems and services, especially as digital tools become more important in daily life and business life.

At the same time, skepticism remains about digital technologies and their possible negative effects on individuals and societies. The statement stated that in this evolving environment, it is important for companies in the technology ecosystem to come together to address these concerns.

In defining the characteristics of trusted technology and a set of operating principles to which signatories will adhere, the agency said TTA members are committed to working with governments and customers to ensure the benefits of emerging technologies accrue to wider public trust, while boosting job creation and economic growth.

What are the principles that every company accepts?

The Alliance brings together some of the world’s leading companies committed to a common set of clear, verifiable practices and principles that outline how technology can be operated safely, reliably and responsibly, regardless of where it is built or used, the report said.

Participating companies collectively agreed to five distinct principles that define what it means to develop, distribute, operate and collaborate as a trusted global technology provider.

The core principles of the alliance include:

— Transparent corporate governance and ethical behavior

— Operational transparency across business applications

— Safe development of technology systems

— Independent evaluation to ensure accountability

— Establishing a robust supply chain and strong security oversight

— Supporting an open, collaborative, inclusive and resilient digital ecosystem

— Respect for the rule of law and data protection standards.

“As of today, the signatories of the Trusted Tech Alliance are: Anthropic, AWS, Cassava Technologies, Cohere, Ericsson, Google Cloud, Hanwha, Jio Platforms, Microsoft, Nokia, Nscale, NTT, Rapidus, Saab and SAP,” the statement said.
