Wigan v Leigh: Warriors say Leopards ‘do not intend to fulfil’ fixture

Wigan said: “On Tuesday, September 30 at 10.37 at 10.37, Derek Beaumont of our club Leigh Leopards was informed that they did not intend to fulfill the semi -final fixture on Friday.

“Leigh Leopards can be confirmed that the selection of 4,600 unprotected seats or 5,400 separed seats are offered at the North stand.”

Wigan said that the allocation was determined by the independent security advisory group and the location security guard after the police met with the police.

They said Super League “received separate security advice” and “fully approved this approach”.

Wigan added that the allocation presented is almost twice the minimum of 10% required for remote supporters.

Wigan’s statement, “Although Leigh Leopars found this regulation unacceptable, our club has to comply with the instructions of our security guard and the conditions of our security certificate.”

“The safety and prosperity of all supporters must come first. This negotiation is not open to this negotiation and supports every decision we make.

“We continue to prepare for the semi -final of Friday, and as the situation develops, we will publish more information.”

Wigan finished on one and three points in the normal season, and the winner of the match, which was scheduled for Friday, will face Hull Kr or St Helens in the Grand Finals of Old Trafford on Saturday, October 11th.
