Wild moment axe-wielding man tries to break into Sydney home

Residents on Sydney’s lower north shore have been left horrified after a group of men were caught breaking into homes armed with axes and other weapons.
Emergency services were called to a house on Taleeban Road in Riverview at around 2.50am on September 25 after reports of a gunman outside the house.
Witnesses told police they saw a man with an ax outside the home trying to break in.
“No injuries were reported and no material damage occurred,” the police statement said.
Speaking to 2GB’s Ben Fordham, local resident Barry Johnston said he and his children were sleeping when the intruders tried to force their way into the house.
CCTV footage showed the masked and hooded attackers “crawling around the house” before a man with an axe brandished the weapon at the camera.
“We have lived in this area for 33 years,” Mr. Johnston said.
A NSW Police spokesman said police were investigating the incident as part of the Sweetenham Strike Force.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
