Wimbledon 2025 results: Jack Draper cruises past Sebastian Baez in All England Club opener

The British Number Jack Draper started his Wimbledon offer with a command performance before retired by his rival Sebastian Baez injury.

After a striking increase in the last 12 months, Draper, Fourth, was ahead of 6-2 6-2 2-1 when Baez retired after an hour 14 minutes.

Clay-Court Specialist Baez needed treatment in the second set after shifting to the court on a base line.

“I wanted to be honest to play a little longer.

“Frankly, it is not a way to win such, and I wish Sebastian the best in his healing.”

Since Andy Murray’s retirement, he has been focusing on 23 -year -old Draper in the first championships.

Argentina Baez, who has not won grass for more than two years, is in front of Baez’s much harder tests.

However, it was a confident beginning of the host nation’s hopes of success for two weeks.

Draper then faces the 36 -year -old Marin Cilic, the second in 2017, which is still a threat to the lawn court.
