Decision on Pilot Rohith Reddy’s Custodial Interrogation Deferred

Hyderabad: The Upparpally court on Monday postponed the hearing on the police custody petition to Wednesday after hearing arguments from both sides in the drug consumption and police firing case of former BRS MLA P. ‘Pilot’ Rohith Reddy, his brother and co-accused Ritesh Reddy and Delhi-based real estate agent Namit Sharma.

The police had sought three-day custody of the accused for further interrogation in connection with the Moinabad farmhouse drugs case. The prosecution argued that custodial interrogation was necessary to obtain more details, corroborate evidence and identify additional connections in the case.

The defense opposed the petition, arguing only that the request was not necessary. According to the defense lawyer, the raid was carried out on March 14 and the defendants were brought to court only the next day. They stated that the defendants were in police custody during this intervention period, where they were given sufficient time to question them.
