Wipro launches Applied AI Center of Excellence for Claude models — Here’s all you need to know

Indian software and consulting giant Wipro has announced the launch of its Applied AI Center of Excellence (CoE), which will serve as an innovation hub for Claude models powered by Anthropic and will be part of the company’s newly created AI-Indigenous Business and Platforms Unit.

The AI-focused CoE “strengthens Wipro’s ability to scale enterprise AI adoption using Claude models,” the company said in a statement, adding that these capabilities are “integrated into the Wipro Intelligence™ stack, including delivery, functional and industry platforms, to embed AI into core workflows across industries.”

“This marks a fundamental shift in the way we deliver services and advances our strategy to be consultancy-driven and AI-enabled. By combining the power of Claude models with our deep domain and enterprise expertise, we deliver measurable business results for our clients,” said Srini Pallia, CEO and MD of Wipro.

  • The program is designed to build a strong base of practitioners with the skills to design, deploy and operate AI-enabled systems in complex enterprise environments.

Wipro share buyback details

IT services major Wipro The 15,000-crore share buyback reached a record date of June 5 today, making it the company’s largest buyback program in almost three years. Investors had to purchase shares by June 4 to be eligible to participate. The buyback offer announced in April was presented to shareholders 250 per share, a premium of approximately 22.5% of the closing price 204/shares on June 4th.

Wipro’s board of directors has approved buyback of up to 60 crore equity shares, representing approximately 5.7% of its paid-up equity capital, and the total buyback expense has been capped at Rs 200,000. 15,000 crore. Even though the record date has passed, Wipro is yet to announce the opening and closing dates of the tender window.
