Woman, 20s, dies in horror crash on M2 motorway on Christmas Eve

A woman in her 20s was killed in a crash on the highway on Christmas Eve.
Kent Police said the woman was driving a black Volkswagen T-Roc when it crashed into the central reservation and overturned.
The incident occurred shortly before 12.50pm near the Medway services at Junction 4 of the M2 carriageway into London.
Police said the woman, from the Faversham area of Kent, was pronounced dead at the scene and there were no other passengers in the car or vehicles.
On the day when Christmas traffic was expected to reach its peak, the road between Junctions 5 and 4 was closed with the participation of Serious Collision Investigation Unit officers.
National Highways said at 4.40pm that the road was “likely to remain closed for a period of time” before fully reopening later in the evening.
South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service also responded, according to the agency.
The RAC said it expected festive getaway trips by car to peak at 4.2 million on Christmas Eve, with normal commuter traffic “likely to be much lighter”.
The AA predicted there would be more than 22 million cars on the roads on Christmas Eve.
Police are appealing for witnesses and drivers with dashcam footage to come forward.
