A woman who tried to snatch a seven-month-old baby out of a stroller outside a beachfront shop before spitting at police as she was arrested has been jailed.
Brazen kidnapper Nicolette Goldrick, 51, caused ‘unimaginable terror’ when she calmly walked towards a pink baby stroller parked outside an ice cream shop on Central Drive in Blackpool and the baby’s mother briefly entered.
The shocking moment Goldrick, dressed in a black hoodie and jeans, examined the sleeping child before releasing the stroller brake and starting to push him down the street was captured on CCTV.
In the disturbing footage, Goldrick is seen looking over his shoulder several times while driving the pram; his face is covered with a mask.
Inside the store, the baby’s mother was paying for the delivery when she looked up and saw the stroller walking away. Screaming, he ran outside and ran after Goldrick in a panic.
The terrified mother managed to get the stroller back from Goldrick a few meters down the road with the help of a passerby.
The court heard the 51-year-old man said nothing and walked away as if nothing had happened.

Goldrick later returned to the same spot on the afternoon of May 10 and was arrested by police.
As officers led him to a police van, Goldrick shouted disgusting abuse at them before spitting at one of the officers once inside.
Goldrick later pleaded guilty to child abduction and assaulting an emergency worker at Preston Crown Court, where he was sentenced to 12 months in prison and given a five-year restraining order.
A victim impact statement read in court described the horrific ordeal as ‘the worst day of their lives and something they will never get over’.
CPS North West Senior Crown Prosecutor Tom Snape said: ‘Nicolette Goldrick’s brazen actions caused unimaginable horror as she attempted to abduct a baby.
‘This incident epitomizes every parent’s worst nightmare, leaving his mother to chase after him.
‘Goldrick’s mistreatment of officers following his arrest shows he has little remorse for his actions.
‘I hope the baby’s parents can begin to move forward knowing that Goldrick is facing the consequences of his actions.’
