Riot Police Called Over T Shirt at Bondi Beach | The West Report
Andrew Brown was stopped by police in Bondi after wearing a T-shirt that read “Fuck Israel, Fuck Zionism”. Police officers said the shirt was offensive and warned that it could lead to a breach of the peace.
The discussion escalated into a full-scale police response, with a report identifying some 18 officers, Task Force Odin, paddy wagons and ambulances at the scene. Brown argued that the shirt was a political statement, pointing to an earlier issue with the same shirt being later dropped, and denying repeated requests for the shirt to be removed or turned inside out.
The incident raises new questions about political communication, protest rights and the extent of police resources used to address public speech.
