Woman charged with attempted murder after car crashes into pedestrians in central London

A woman has been charged with attempted murder after a car crashed into pedestrians in central London on Sunday morning.

Gabrielle Carrington, 29, of Broadfield Road, Manchester, has been charged with attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, causing actual bodily harm and drink driving, police said on Monday evening.

The Metropolitan Police said a woman in her 30s remained in life-threatening injuries and a man in his 50s suffered life-changing injuries after being struck by a car on Argyll Street, Westminster, at around 4.30am on Sunday.

Police said a second woman in her 30s also suffered minor injuries.

Carrington was remanded in custody ahead of his first appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
