Woman charged with torture after 10yo girl rushed to hospital

A woman has been charged with torture after a 10-year-old girl in Queensland was hospitalized with dehydration, malnutrition and untreated injuries.

Queensland Police said the girl was taken to Queensland Children’s Hospital on February 9.

They said he was suffering from “significant” untreated injuries as well as dehydration and critical malnutrition.

Police later declared a crime scene at a home in Logan Reserve.

A 40-year-old woman has since been charged with failing to provide necessary supplies three times and once with torture, police said Tuesday.

He will appear at Beenleigh Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

It was learned that the child’s condition was stable and he remained in intensive care.
