Woman dies following dog attack at Essex house

A 19-year-old woman died after being attacked by a dog in Essex.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being responsible for a dog that went dangerously out of control and caused fatal injuries after an incident in Dunmow on Friday.
Essex Police said they were called to a property in Leaden Roding at 10.45pm on Friday, where they found the woman with serious injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police added that the dog they believe was responsible for attacking the woman was seized.
The man, from the Dunmow area, remains in custody.

Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper of Essex Police said: “I know this incident will come as a shock to the local community.
“My thoughts, and all of us at Essex Police, are with the loved ones of the woman who died yesterday.
“We will have officers in the area throughout today so if you have any information or concerns please come and speak to them.
“Experienced detectives are conducting the investigation to find out exactly what happened.”
In a separate incident, a 45-year-old man was arrested after a girl died after being bitten by a dog in Redcar on Thursday.
Cleveland Police said two dogs were killed after the incident, which also left a woman injured in the arm.
