Woman Goes Missing in Tirumala, Police Intensify Search

Tirupati: A young woman who came to Tirumala for darshan of Lord Venkateswara went missing on Monday. According to the information obtained, Uppu Lakshmi Tirupatamma, a native of Sangadigunta in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, came to Tirumala with her family. They returned to their room after darshan on Monday night. Tirupatamma reportedly went out around 3:00 am and did not return. His family searched the surrounding area, and when they could not find his trace, they filed a complaint with the police.
Preliminary investigation suggests that she may have left on her own because she was unhappy with the arranged marriage suggested by her elders. Police have registered a case and are examining CCTV footage from the area. He was last seen wearing a maroon and brown colored churidar. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has installed an AI-based facial recognition technology primarily for better management and access control of pilgrims. This system can locate a person detected by any of the cameras installed around the city.
Meanwhile, police intensified searches on highways, railway stations and city entry points of the temple town. Authorities appealed to the public to share information about Tirupatamma and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
