A mother is fighting for her life after being shot multiple times by two hooded men in front of her one-year-old son, police said.

Police were called to a house on Cronin Street in Peckham, south-east London, to reports of shots fired just before 11pm on Christmas Eve.

The police saw that the victim’s condition was critical, with multiple bullet wounds, and he was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

He spent Christmas in the intensive care unit and is still being treated in the ward.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the victim’s one-year-old son was at home at the time of the attack but was thankfully unharmed.

Police believe the two men, wearing dark-colored hoodies, walked up to the front door of the home and then fired seven shots through the front door.

Both then fled on foot towards Commercial Road.

Detective Inspector Jordan Gardner, who is investigating, said: ‘This was a shocking act of violence carried out in a family home where a young child was present. It is vital that we identify those responsible and ensure justice for the victim.
