Woman Petitions CM Over 22-A Land Issue

A land dispute from East Godavari district came to the fore during Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Banaganapalle in Nandyal district on Thursday.

Mutyala Sai Deepthi of Mandapeta filed a petition stating that a house plot patta was issued in her mother’s name for a plot located on Mandapeta main road in 2003. Due to his mother’s poor health, the property was transferred to his father with a gift deed in 2015. Since then, the family has retained ownership of the land and has been paying regular panchayat taxes.

However, when the family approached the authorities for regularization under the Pattadar Regularization Scheme-2025, the local collector reportedly informed them that the land fell under the banned 22-A category and regularization could not be done.

Taking notice of the complaint, officials said that the East Godavari Collector will meet the petitioner’s father at 2 pm on Friday to look into the matter and take necessary steps to ensure justice.
