Woman rushed to hospital after being hit by police car in Cairns

A woman has been taken to hospital after being hit by a police car in Far North Queensland.

The woman was struck by a police vehicle at the intersection of Lily and Sheridan Streets in Cairns shortly after 7am on Thursday.

Police said officers immediately called for medical help and the woman was taken to Cairns Hospital.

Investigations continue.
