Woman who died after being stabbed in the neck in Birmingham pictured for first time | UK | News

A woman who was stabbed in Birmingham on Friday has been photographed for the first time. Katie Fox, 34, was taken to hospital following the alleged assault on Smallbrook Queensway shortly before 9pm on November 7.
On Monday morning West Midlands Police said he had sadly since died. Djeison Rafael appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning, charged with murder. Wearing a gray T-shirt and flanked by two port officers who removed his handcuffs as he appeared before District Judge John Bristow, Rafael was told to be quiet and look ahead as they interrupted the six-minute hearing multiple times.
Cathy Crossley, of Arts All Over The Place (AAOTP), wrote in the online tribute: “There is tragic news today that Gary Morris’ partner Katie Fox has died after being stabbed in Birmingham on Friday evening.
“He has been a friend of AAOTP for many years and has attended various events. We are all devastated and are sending so much love and support to Gary Morris, a staple in our ADHD group.”
Rafael, 21, of Rosedale Avenue, Smethwick, is also charged with causing actual bodily harm on October 27 and November 7, possession of a Stanley knife on November 7 and assaulting a custody escort officer on November 8.
Rafael was told that he would not be asked to enter a plea as the offenses were too serious to be dealt with by the magistrates’ court.
District Judge Bristow told the defendant: “I will send you and your charges to the crown court on 12 November.”
West Midlands Police are appealing for information from anyone who knows more about the identity or movements of Rafael, who they describe as a black British man.
They believe he was wearing an all-grey tracksuit, black hat, sneakers and a backpack on Friday evening.
Police had previously said Ms Fox was taken to hospital with a serious neck injury but later died from her injuries.
