World Athletics Championship: Japan heatwave will be challenge for athletes, says Sebastian Coe

However, unlike pandemic delayed games in Japan four years ago, marathon and race walking events will remain in Tokyo.
In 2021, both events moved to the cool North City Sapporo due to heat concerns.
Both men and women’s racing walks are scheduled to start at 8:00 in the morning on Saturday to overcome the heat.
One Instagram Post Tuesday,– external Olympic 800M champion Keely Hodgkinson uploaded a photo of “Hot here” from the Japanese education base.
Coe said that the war against climate change fell to sports leaders after governments’ inertia.
“Governments did not go on the plate, and sports will have to make some unilateral decisions and decisions here.”
“And we’ve reflected in the past, if we are committed to the welfare of the athlete, we must probably be clearly connected to it.”
