World Cup 2026: Donald Trump to attend World Cup final and present winner

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said that US President Donald Trump will attend the World Cup final and help present the cup.
Trump, 80, has not yet attended a World Cup game, but he may appear before the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19.
The World Cup started on June 11 and will be held in Canada, Mexico and the USA.
“Of course we will be with the president who enjoys the final and delivers the trophy to the winner,” Infantino, now a close friend of Trump, told Fox.
When asked whether they would make the presentation together, Infantino said, “Of course, we are always together.”
The USA will host 78 of the 104 matches in the tournament, which will also be held in Mexico and Canada.
Andrew Giuliani, managing director of the White House’s World Cup working group. He told the Telegraph, external He said Trump likes to “make people watch” and has yet to attend a game due to his busy schedule.
Trump was at the UFC White House event last week and was recently booed in New York for becoming the first US president to attend the NBA Finals, watching game three of the defending champion New York Knicks losing 111-115 to the San Antonio Spurs.
Last summer, Trump remained on the winners’ podium at MetLife Stadium after handing the Club World Cup trophy to Chelsea’s Reece James, causing confusion among some players.
“They told me he was going to present me with the trophy and then walk off stage, so I thought he was going to walk off stage but he wanted to stay,” James said.
