Angus Gunn – It’s lucky not to give up after making a pretty routine shot. Otherwise, Haiti’s inconsistent finishing meant they were not extremely tested. 6
Aaron Hickey – An early lapse in concentration almost cost Scotland dearly, but it was a vital intervention to deny Ruben Providence. 6
jack henry – Great defense to stop Wilson Isidor from coming home. It largely limited Haiti to long-range efforts. 7
Grant Hanley – Solid view from the large rear center. Adams’ great ball from the top led to McGinn’s goal. 7
Andy Robertson – Some outstanding shots from the left wing could have brought more goals. He had good connections with McGinn. 7
Ben Gannon-Doak – His pace and direction sent alarm bells ringing in the Haiti backline every time he received the ball. The final delivery may still disappoint, but he has become Scotland’s chief creative force. 9
Scott McTominay – It is unlucky to see your curling effort hit a post. His property was stolen several times in dangerous areas. Short of his imperious best. 6
Lewis Ferguson – As the Haitians advanced quickly, they anticipated and eliminated the danger many times. 8
John McGinn – Scored Scotland’s first goal in the men’s World Cup, following Craig Burley’s goal against Norway in France ’98. We missed a great chance for a moment. 8
Lawrence Shankland – He defended but had difficulty getting into the game. He could not find the form he wanted in the goals he scored in the friendly matches against Curacao and Bolivia. 6
Che Adams – Great run and excellent first touch as McGinn sets up for the opening kick. The partnership with Shankland did not fully materialize. 6
