World Darts Championship 2026 results: Justin Hood and Jonny Clayton through to quarter-finals
Earlier, Welsh fifth seed Jonny Clayton saw off Swedish starter Andreas Harrysson battling England’s Ryan Searle to set up a last-eight draw.
While Harrysson missed a chance to take a 3-2 lead in the fifth set, five of the six sets played led to a decisive result.
“Every time I looked up Andreas was hitting a double,” Clayton said.
“It was difficult. I wasn’t at my best and I made a lot of open shots, but that’s what pressure does to you. Andreas always kept me under pressure.”
Clayton’s victory means he moves into provisional fourth place in the PDC world rankings and will automatically qualify for next year’s Premier League if he is still in the same position at the end of the tournament.
In Tuesday’s opening match, Poland’s Krzysztof Ratajski beat 25th seed Luke Woodhouse 4-2 to advance to the quarter-finals against reigning champion Luke Littler.
Woodhouse missed a double 12 for a nine-dart finish in the third set; This would be the first perfect leg of the tournament and earn the Englishman an additional £60,000.
