Worshippers flee as synagogue set on fire

A group of worshipers had to flee from a synagogue after a man set the building on fire during weekly services.
Victoria police, a man’s east melbourne synagogue flashes and burns on Friday at around 20.00.
Everyone inside was able to evacuate behind the synagogue and no injury report.
Firefighters contained blaze in front of the building.
“The police are still trying to determine the exact conditions surrounding the fire, including motivation behind the incident,” a Victoria police spokesman. He said.
“There is absolutely no place for anti -Semitic or hate -based behaviors in our society.”
Power works with people from the synagogue and other representatives from the Jewish community to ensure their appropriate support.
The Eastern Melbourne Synagogue is located near the Victoria Parliament in the heart of the city. The suspect was last seen escaping from Albert Street to CBD.

Two of the three buildings of the synagogue were destroyed in the early hours of the morning, which forced the congregation members to escape.
However, the Anti -Terror Police did not raid more than one property as part of this investigation.
