WPL: England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt hits first century in Women’s Premier League history as Mumbai Indians beat RCB

Nat Sciver-Brunt reached the first century in Women’s Premier League history as she helped Mumbai Indians to a 15-run win over Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
England captain Brunt plundered 16 fours and sixes in a 100-run 57-run knock to help MI post 199-4 from 20 overs, while international teammate Lauren Bell took 2-21 for RCB.
Mumbai then restricted RCB to 184-9 despite Richa Ghosh’s 50-ball 90 and Hayley Matthews, who had earlier hit 56, finished 3-10 in the bowlers’ pick.
All-rounder Sciver-Brunt’s knock eclipsed the WPL’s previous highest scores of 99 and 99 by Georgia Voll and Sophie Devine respectively.
“Reaching this milestone was a special moment, but more importantly were the team’s runs on the board,” said Sciver-Brunt, 33.
“I was just reacting to the balls I was given. Tactically some bowlers can be stronger than others.”
Sciver-Brunt is one of the WPL’s highest-paid players, earning between £320,000 and £330,000 playing for Mumbai since the tournament’s inaugural season in 2023.
