WRU chief Abi Tierney to step away from role after cancer diagnosis

Brother Tierney, General Manager of Galli Rugby Union, will move away from his role after the diagnosis of cancer.
Tierney will take time to be treated from August 22, without the return date.
“This was not an easy decision, but my health and recovery is a decision to focus completely,” he said.
“I am sure that I am grateful for my support from my family, my friends and my colleagues and the ability of the team to continue our work during my absence.
“During this time, please I want understanding and confidentiality.”
President Richard Collier-Keywood will temporarily take the general accusation of the administrative organ.
