‘Yes, we’ve been to the moon before’: Nasa rebuffs Kim Kardashian conspiracy theory | Nasa

NASA has rejected Kim Kardashian’s comments about the 1969 moon landing and confirmed it actually happened.

On Thursday’s episode of The Kardashians, the Skims founder questioned whether the space mission was happening while noting her interest in conspiracy theories.

Hours after the episode aired on Hulu, NASA acting administrator Sean Duffy tagged Kardashian in a post on X with the clip of herself talking about her doubts and doubts. wrote: “Yes, we’ve been to the Moon before… 6 times! And even better: [NASA Artemis] returns under the leadership [president Donald Trump]. “We won the last space race, we will win this one too.”

In a scene from The Kardashians, Kardashian talks to her co-star Sarah Paulson on the set of the upcoming series All’s Fair.

“I’m sending you a million articles with both Buzz Aldrin and the other one,” Kardashian tells Paulson, before reading an article claiming what was the scariest moment on the expedition of astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second person to walk on the moon after Neil Armstrong. Kardashian says in the article that Aldrin responded: “It wasn’t a scary moment because it didn’t happen. It could have been scary, but it didn’t happen because it didn’t happen.”

Aldrin’s alleged response is that Kardashian says she now believes the moon landing never happened.

“I always center conspiracies,” he later says in his confessional, before telling a producer that he thought the landing was definitely fake.

“I think it’s fake. I’ve seen a few videos of Buzz Aldrin talking about how it doesn’t happen. He says it all the time in interviews now. Maybe we should find Buzz Aldrin,” he suggested.

In response to Duffy, Kardashian posted to X and decided to use the moment to learn more about the interstellar comet called 3I/ATLAS.

“Wait….what is tea in 3I Atlas?!?!!!!!!!!???????” he wrote.

Duffy responded to this question by saying that NASA’s current observations indicate that this is the third interstellar comet to pass through our solar system. There are no aliens. There is no threat to life here on Earth. 3 = third I = interstellar, meaning from beyond our solar system ATLAS = Asteroid Discovered by our Terrestrial Impact Latest Alert System (ATLAS) team.”

Duffy added that she loved “yours.” [Kardashian’s] “Excitement about our Artemis mission to the Moon,” he then took the opportunity to invite Kardashian to the Artemis launch at the Kennedy Space Center. He did not publicly announce whether he accepted the invitation.

It’s unclear why Duffy chose to agree with this particular comment, but perhaps she still feels a kinship with the reality TV stars. Duffy was a cast member of The Real World: Boston in 1997 and later appeared on other MTV shows such as Road Rules: All Stars and Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Battle of the Seasons.

Theories that the moon landing was staged or tampered with in some way have long been a topic of discussion on social media and beyond. As stated by Institute of Physics“Any claim that NASA faked the Moon landing has been discredited.” Citing photographic, radiation and physical evidence, the institute states that “382 kg of moon rock” was brought to Earth by the Apollo astronauts and was “independently confirmed to be lunar by laboratories around the world, ruling out US conspiracy.”

A study published in PLOS One even found that: A fake moon landing would require more than 400,000 conspirators.
