Yoga Vital for Fitness, Mental Peace: SPF Chief

: State Special Protection Force (SPF) director general Dr CM Trivikram Varma said yoga promotes physical fitness, mental peace and a healthy lifestyle and urged people, especially police personnel, to make yoga a part of their daily routine.
Addressing the ‘Yogandhra’ program organized by the State SPF police wing at Dr Narla Tatarao Thermal Power Plant (Dr NTTPS) in Ibrahimpatnam on Wednesday, Dr Trivikram Varma said yoga helps police personnel cope with physical and mental stress while also improving health, discipline and mental toughness.
The SPF chief said yoga creates greater health awareness and supports the government’s vision of creating a ‘Suitable for Andhra Pradesh’ structure. He described yoga as a strong foundation for general well-being and an effective remedy against the pressures of modern life.
More than 350 SPF staff and others participated in the program and performed yoga asanas and pranayama exercises under expert guidance.
The event was organized under the leadership of SPF Regional Commander Muddada Sankara Rao and Dr NTTPS Deputy Commander T. Krishnamachari. inspector general BV Rami Reddy, chief engineer Siva Ramanjaneyulu, chief security officer PVSN Mallikarjuna Rao and other officials were present.
