“You’re about an eight-minute walk from the subway, you’re not in the busy area of that metropolis,” he said. “So even though you’re close to all amenities, it’s quiet.”

In Menai, parents paid $2.15 million to buy a renovated, four-bedroom brick house for their adult children to eventually live in.
“This will help them get off to a flying start,” said agent Chris Lechowicz, of Ray White Sutherland Shire.
The parents defeated an older couple, a couple in their 40s, and a younger couple.

A first-home buyer in Mosman was unbeatable to secure his share of one of Sydney’s most elite postcodes; There was only a reserve to be defeated.

One bidder placed two bids at the urging of the auctioneer and agent Andrew Bowden of Raine & Horne Mosman.
The bidder started with $750,000, but they were told they needed to increase their position and were offered $25,000 more. That was enough for the hammer to fall.
Four bidders signed up, but three were not ready that day, Bowden said.
With an average unit price in Mosman of $1.28 million, the buyer got an entry-level deal close to the suburb’s best features.
“It’s not too far from Balmoral Beach and close to the village, away from the noise and chaos,” Bowden said.
A lavish three-bedroom townhouse in Earlwood brought $1,462,000 after campaign guidance of $1.3 million.
The winning bidders in the three-level tender were a young family 1/217 William Street, Designed by Hebden Architects, this apartment is located in a new boutique complex for six people.
The low bidders were downsizers.
All four registered bidders participated under the supervision of auctioneer Tom Panos. It received an opening bid of $1.25 million, and the contest quickly surpassed the reserve of $1.3 million.
Agent Lambros Markessinis of Ray White Burwood said the presentation was A-list but the location was just as important.
“It’s a very good suburb that attracts a lot of families,” he said.
“Close to shops and bus service outside. A good buy and we have a very happy young family. They will enjoy it.”
