Young woman dead after being struck by lightning
A woman died after being struck by lightning amid warnings of more severe weather conditions over the weekend.
Paramedics rushed to the aid of the 21-year-old after he was shot at a Sunshine Coast sports complex on Thursday afternoon.

He was transported to Nambour Hospital in a critical condition but could not be resuscitated.
Queensland police said a report would be prepared for the state coroner.
The woman was shot during a storm during a football practice at the Cooroy Sports Complex around 5pm.
Cooroora United Football Club later released a statement on social media saying “both members and those in and around the pitch, including emergency services, showed admirable action, respect and care for each other.”

“We want our CUFC community to remain respectful online, avoid unhelpful speculation and engage with each other,” he said.
Acknowledging the distress experienced by witnesses, the club called on anyone affected to seek support.
