Youth Dressed as Shivaji Maharaj Denied Entry to Vasai Fort

The Archaeological Society of India (ASI) on Wednesday promised appropriate action after a video of a youth dressed as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj being denied entry to the Vasai Fort on the outskirts of Mumbai went viral on social media.
Locals said a young man came to the historical site to shoot content paying tribute to the legendary Maratha king. However, security personnel assigned to the scene stopped him, citing restrictions on such activities.
In the video showing the interaction between the young man and the security guards, the young man claimed that the management ignored activities such as pre-wedding shootings and dance videos in the castle. He accused the guards of disrespecting Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy.
Following harsh reactions from social media users over the clip, ASI official in charge of Vasai Fort Kailas Shinde told PTI that the incident was reported to them. “We are taking the necessary precautions,” he said.
