Zack Polanski could face investigation over ‘boobgate’ scandal | Politics | News

Zack Polanski may face investigation by the National Hypnotherapy Council over allegations he offered breast enlargement services without being a full member. The Liberal Democrats are understood to have written to the body to ask whether it should launch an investigation into the Green Party leader after damning reports emerged earlier this week.

Mr Polanski, 43, sparked outrage when he became leader and was quickly questioned about his past as a hypnotist, known as “Boobgate”. Liberal Democrat home affairs spokesman Max Wilkinson, 42, is believed to have written to the council after it was reported that the controversial Green Party leader was not a full member when he claimed he could enlarge a woman’s bust using just the power of the human mind.

In 2013, Mr Polanski, who works as a hypnotherapist, offered a newspaper reporter a private session to increase the size of her breasts.

He reportedly told the woman that his ability to increase women’s breast size was “safe and much cheaper than a boob job.”

The hypnotherapist at the time, who charged her £220 for the service, said her powers “could also work on other parts of the body”, such as someone’s nails or hair.

But Mr Polanski has since claimed he was misrepresented and never believed this was possible, even claiming he was framed by the press.

But it later emerged that he stood by the claim when speaking to the BBC just six days after the initial story emerged.

In this interview, he talks about a “successful” session he had with a reporter, which he claims changed the woman’s cup size, and suggests that he tried this method with others.

The eco-populist has repeatedly apologized for the incident since becoming leader of the Green Party in a landslide victory last year, saying he had only agreed to provide the service the reporter requested.

The Green Party is expected to score big victories in Thursday’s local elections, currently sitting between 18-20% of the vote nationally.

A party spokesperson has been approached for comment.
