Andrew Neil rages at stupidity of Intifada marches post-Bondi killings | World | News

Andrew Neil has launched a blistering attack on those taking part in toxic anti-Israel protests following the terrorist attack on Bondi Beach that left 16 people dead.

The political commentator turned to X after two terrorists opened fire on innocent members of the Jewish community gathered in Sydney to celebrate the first day of Hanukkah. The massacre took place on the crowded beach on Sunday.

Since Iran-backed Hamas terrorists massacred Israeli festival attendees on October 7, 2023, leaving 1,200 dead, grisly pro-Gaza protests have ripped through major UK cities such as London, Birmingham, Glasgow and Cardiff, as well as Western cities such as New York, Paris and Berlin. Sydney has also been the scene of disturbing demonstrations against the only Jewish State in the world to suffer the worst murder of Jews in the world since World War II.

So far, 16 people have been confirmed dead in Sydney as a result of this latest anti-Semitic massacre, including a London-born rabbi, Holocaust survivors and innocent children, one as young as 10 years old. Approximately 40 people are thought to have been injured.

One of the attackers, 50-year-old Sajid Akram, was shot dead by police at the scene. The second gunman, identified as the man’s 24-year-old son Naveed Akram, remains seriously injured in the hospital under armed guard.

“The death toll from the horrific Bondi Beach massacre continues to rise,” Mr Neil said.

“At last count, there are a horrific 16 dead. For those who have been marching for the last few years demanding ‘globalization of the intifada’, this is a barbaric anti-Semitic consequence of their pro-Islamic stupidity.”

He added: “Western intelligence services will be wondering whether this was a horrific one-off atrocity or a harbinger of something worse to come during the festive season.”

Several police officers were injured in the clash with the attackers, including a police officer and a probationary police officer, both of whom suffered gunshot wounds.

Meanwhile, Ahmed al Ahmed, 43, was hailed as a hero after he was identified as the man seen tackling one of the terrorists in widely shared footage.

In the video, Ahmed is seen crouching behind a car and then jumping on the attacker, taking his rifle from him as he runs away.

Bondi Beach remains a major crime scene with counter-terrorism detectives seizing three firearms for forensic testing.

Investigations continue, with Israeli intelligence sources suggesting that Iranian-backed terrorists may have financed and directed the attack.
