24-year-old suspect Naveed Akram’s last conversation with family before mass shooting REVEALED, his mother says, ‘Anyone would wish…’

A terrorist attack on Bondi Beach during the Hanukkah celebration in Sydney killed 16 people, including father and son suspects Naveed Akram and Sajid Akhtar. Naveed’s mother was shocked by his involvement and described him as a ‘good kid’. Australian Prime Minister Albanese condemned the attack as ‘pure evil’.

Following the horrific terror attack on Sydney’s Bondi Beach during the Jewish Hanukkah celebration, the mother of 24-year-old Naveed Akram, one of the alleged gunmen, has expressed disbelief that her son was involved in the violence. The father-son duo who opened fire at the event was identified as Naveed Akram and his father Sajid Akhtar. 16 people lost their lives in the attack, including Akhtar, who was killed in a clash with the police.

Mother’s Shock and Denial

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Naveed Akram’s mother Verena described her son as a ‘good boy’ and insisted she could not believe he was capable of such cruelty. Just hours before the fatal shooting, Naveed had called his mother to inform her that he was in Jervis Bay, a popular coastal area in Australia, with his father. According to Verena, Naveed said that they were going to eat and stay at home because the weather was “very hot” and that he went swimming and scuba diving.

‘He has no firearm. He doesn’t even go out. He doesn’t get along well with his friends. He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t smoke, he doesn’t go to bad places… he goes to work, comes home, goes to exercise, that’s it. “Everyone wants to have a son like my son… he is a good boy,” he told the media outlet, adding that he expressed shock at the news about his alleged involvement in such a deadly incident.

Despite his assurances, the reality of the attack cannot be denied, in which the actions of the father and son resulted in the deaths of 16 people, including one of the attackers. While Naveed was arrested at the scene, his father died in a gunfight with the police.

Prime Minister calls attack ‘Pure Evil’

The attack shocked the country; Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described the attack as an act of ‘pure evil’. Speaking at a press conference, Albanese condemned the attack on iconic Bondi Beach, which symbolizes joy and family gatherings, as an act of antisemitism and terrorism.

“This is an act of terrorism in an iconic part of Australia, on our shores,” Albanese said, visibly shaken. ‘What we saw yesterday was an act of pure evil, an act of antisemitism.’ As a sign of respect for the victims, the Australian government ordered national flags to be flown at half-mast and the Prime Minister laid flowers at the Bondi Pavilion near the scene of the attack.

Attack and Aftermath

The tragedy occurred on Sunday evening at a ‘Hanukkah by the Sea’ event, a public celebration of the Jewish holiday in one of Sydney’s most popular locations. While citizens ran away in panic upon hearing gunshots, the police intervened at the scene in a short time. By the time the situation was brought under control, 16 people, including the attackers, had lost their lives. Naveed was arrested and remains under police guard at a local hospital in critical condition.

The attack has raised concerns about security and extremism in Australia, and authorities continue to investigate the reasons behind the attack. Although the investigation is still in its early stages, it is clear that this was a premeditated act of violence with devastating consequences for the Jewish community and the people of Sydney.

As the investigation continues, the country remains in shock over the loss of innocent lives and many question how two individuals from an otherwise normal family could commit such a brutal act. The Bondi Beach terror attack serves as a grim reminder of the ever-present threat of extremism, even in places previously thought to be immune from such violence.
