3 children shot near public pool in Stuttgart, Arkansas, suspect arrested

Several children were shot after gunfire broke out over the weekend near a public recreational pool in Stuttgart, Arkansas, authorities said.
The Stuttgart Police Department said in a statement that officers responded to reports of shots fired at the John Cain Aquatics Center just before 5pm local time on Saturday.
According to police, three children suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to a local hospital. One child suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, but police did not provide details about the injuries of the other two children who were shot.
Police said in a social media post that, with the help of the Arkansas County Sheriff’s Office, a suspect was taken into custody within minutes of the incident.

“No names will be released at this time because all parties involved are young people,” the ministry said.
John Cain Aquatics Center said in a statement on Facebook that the aquatic center will be closed “until further notice.”
It’s unclear what led to the conflict.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and officers continue to gather information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Stuttgart police said the attack left the ministry “deeply saddened”.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and everyone affected by this tragic incident,” the police statement said. The statement was included. “We are committed to thoroughly investigating this case and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.”

The Stuttgart Police Department, Arkansas County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas State Police and Stuttgart Parks Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s requests for comment.
