Hundreds of candidates gathered at the Jharkhand Chief Minister’s residence office in Ranchi on Thursday, December 4, 2025, a day after the Jharkhand High Court decided to lift the stay on the results and appointments of the Jharkhand State Election Commission Combined Graduate Level (JSSC CGL) examination.
They expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his wife Kalpana Soren, who is also an MLA.
A division bench of the Jharkhand High Court on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, dismissed a petition seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the alleged leak of question papers of the JSSC CGL examination held on September 21 and 22 last year.
Around 6.5 lakh candidates registered for JSSC CGL exam 2023 but only 82,000 appeared for the exam. A total of 2231 candidates were selected for the document verification process. Approximately 2025 positions will be filled in various departments.
“Every aspect of the JSSC CGL exam case was investigated with complete impartiality, stringent action was taken against the accused, the court respected the impartial investigation and the honest efforts and feelings of the candidates, and justice was served.” Soren told reporters.
He claimed that his government has conducted as many civil service examinations in the last five years as the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has conducted in the last 18 years.
Mr. Soren congratulated all the candidates who passed the exam after a long struggle. He pointed out that if the intention is good, everything will be better.
“If the intention is good, everything will be fine. As a result, all the hurdles related to the JSSC CGL exam and recruitment process are now gone. Although there was a slight delay, we would have celebrated the joy of presenting your appointment letters at the state level event held on the first anniversary of the state government. But I congratulate you all very much on your long-standing success and victory.” Soren said.
He addressed the candidates who had gathered to celebrate with drums and trumpets following the Jharkhand High Court’s order to publish the JSSC CGL results and start the recruitment process.
The Chief Minister said that there are some hostile elements in this state who are conspiring to disrupt every competitive exam and they are also trying to conspire regarding the JSSC CGL exam.
“The matter reached the Supreme Court. However, our government conducted a thorough and impartial investigation. Those who conspired to tarnish the fairness and transparency of this competitive examination were punished.” Soren said.
He also stated that allegations of malpractice have been reported in many JPSC exams conducted in the state, but all exams under the government remain clean.
Giving confidence to the candidates, Mr. Şören said that his government supports the youth at every step.
“Our clear vision is that our state will prosper only when young people are happy. That is why efforts to shape the future of youth continue despite many challenges.” Soren said.
Candidates also expressed confidence in Mr. Soren’s leadership, saying that his tireless efforts, the state government’s impartial investigation into the entire JSSC CGL exam case and stringent action taken against the culprits have led to justice.
