BBC Hot Gossip dancer Heather Alexander has died after a short illness.
The trailblazing dancer was an original member of boundary-pushing dance troupe Hot Gossip, which appeared on the BBC from the late 1970s and was choreographed by future Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips.
Their representatives, Goldmans Management, said in a statement: ‘It is with great sadness that we bring you the news that our wonderful client Heather Alexander passed away last weekend following a short illness.
‘Heather was a warrior to the end and lived her life to the fullest without knowing how poor she was.
‘Last year she was still committed to her amazing one woman shows, getting 5 star reviews and making plans for her future shows.

‘Heather had a wonderful and varied career; strutting her stuff in the BBC’s Hot Gossip, performing in plays alongside well-known names in the West End and, most recently, creating her own works such as Havisham and Becoming Mrs Danvers.
‘He had infectious energy and a great sense of fun, we will miss him so much.’

Famous for their form-fitting lycra dresses, shiny PVC dresses and high-energy jazz routines, the group attracted huge audiences as well as complaints from moral campaigners that they were ‘too sexy for TV’.
In 1978, they reached number 6 on the music charts with the disco hit I Lost My Heart to a Starship Trooper.
Heather left the group in 1981 and pursued a successful acting career.
He has appeared in a number of TV and West End roles, including acting alongside Only Fools and Horses star Sir David Jason.
