8.8 magnitude earthquake prompts tsunami alerts in Hawaii, Alaska and West Coast

A large size of the Russian coast was hit by an earthquake on Tuesday, which led to warnings in Alaska and Hawaii and warnings for other parts of the West coast.
According to the US geology research, the earthquake occurred about 85 miles away from the east coast of Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula. The agency raised the reported size of the earthquake from the first reports of 8.0 and 8.7.
According to USGS, 6.3 and 6.9 aftershocks were also reported in the region.
A Tsunami warning for Alautian Islands and Hawaii was announced. While evaluating the threat, California, Oregon and Washington are under a tsunami consultancy.
According to USGS, the US Guam and American Samoa regions are also under tsunami consultancy.

The first tsunami wave is expected to reach Hawaii immediately after 19:15 local time, which is 01:15 o’clock. According to OAHU Emergency Management, destructive tsunami waves are expected.
Sources told ABC News that Hawaii Emergency Management Agency has activated the emergency operation center. The authorities also activated the common information centers proactively and Hawaii Gov. They are meeting with Josh Green’s team.
Sirens are currently going to all Hawaii Islands as part of the warning system throughout the state -wide, 10 minutes after 10 minutes to warn people for the next three hours.

According to local authorities, Ecuador and Chile are also under tsunami warnings.
A tsunami warning means that a tsunami that can cause widespread, dangerous floods and strong currents is expected. A tsunami clock means that a remote earthquake occurs and a tsunami is possible.
