94% of Ulez fines owed are from persistent offenders
New data from Transport for London (TFL) show that almost all these ultra -low emission zone (ulas) fines are permanent guilty.
TFL promises to resolve those who avoid notifications of penalty charges for ulas violations.
He said that a small minority is responsible for 94 percent of the fines owed by drivers with more than four extraordinary notifications and most of the unpaid charges.
Drivers in the Ulez regions must pay £ 12,50 per day if their vehicles do not meet minimum emission standards.
If the fee is not paid, a penalty fee notification is given to £ 180. If the drivers pay within 14 days, this will be reduced to half.
In August 2023, the region was expanded to cover the entire Great London – so many old diesel cars could no longer be freely driven in London.
Drivers who did not pay their fees reached up to £ 17,000 this year, but TFL said that in the first half of 2025, he collected more than 16.5 million £ debt via execution.
