Over 90000 tickets sold for Virat Kohli-Rohit Sharma’s likely final Aussie tour, CA vows fitting farewell

Cricket Australia (CA) announced on Thursday that the ODI match between India and Australia in Sydney and Australia and the T20I match in Canberra this November was sold four months ago. In addition to unprecedented ticket sales for ashes, CA emphasized a strong interest in acquiring tickets for the White Ball series planned in Australia in October-November from the Indian community. The demand was so high that 90,000 tickets for eight matches with extremely popular T20Is in Melbourne and Brisbane were sold just two weeks after the start of sales.

“SCG ODI and Manuka Oval T20i for consuming our public ticket allocation, four months before the series, is a proof of the tremendous interest of the next season among the fans of the Cricket. Cricket Australia, General Manager of General Manager Joel Morrison, said in a statement, “We have an extreme interest to those who promise to be our biggest cricket so far, so we encourage fans to buy early to avoid missing the action,” he said.

Cricket Australia (CA) reported that more than 16 percent of the tickets sold so far have been purchased by Indian fan clubs. Bharat army, known as one of the most busy fan clubs, has obtained more than 2,400 tickets. In addition, the fans from India showed a significant enthusiasm by buying 1,400 tickets.

Previously, Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg suggested that special arrangements could be made to increase the interest in the jack during this period, which could include a unique farewell for Kohli and Rohit.

“For the first time in about twenty years, Australia Cricket will play international matches in every capital and region.

The interest in the jack in Australia increased with a Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 tour, which attracted a record participation in events such as India’s Boxing Day test.
