Props from Muppet creator’s archives to be auctioned

MUPPETS creator Jim Henson’s comprehensive career and stage, Fraggle Rock and Dark Crystal: The age of resistance will be auctioned, including pieces of children’s shows.
There are also calendars signed by Miss Piggy.
Jim Henson Company said it would be the first auction from the archives.
Henson, who died in 1990 at the age of 53, launched a series of beloved Mupphets, from Kermit The Frog to Mrs. Piggy, to the Swedish chief.
He also brought his art and creativity to Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock and the films of the 1980s to Dark Crystal and Labyrinth.
In the auction, Jim Henson Company comes while celebrating his 70th anniversary.
More than 400 products – stage, costume, set pieces, signed memories, posters and puppets – will be available.
Karen Falk, director of the company’s archives, said they were chosen from tens of thousands of pieces.
One of the important points, the Dark Crystal: NaIa Drenchen Gelfling from the Age of Resistance will be the full body puppet.
The auctions of California-based Julien, which deals with the sale, estimate the value of puppet between USD $ 15,000 (A22,729)-$ 25,000 (A37,882).
Online offer starts on October 22, while the live auction will be on November 25th.
Over the years, the Henson family donated some of Jim Henson’s iconic creations to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, including the original bazaar made of Ping Pong balls for his mother’s old green jacket and eyes.
In 2013, the family donated a original version of Miss Piggy and some of the Mugpet Show to exhibit some common stars at the American National Museum.
