Each new town is expected to have at least 10,000 properties as well as GP operations, schools, green spaces and transportation connections. The task force will argue that approximately 40% of the houses should be affordable houses and 20% are reserved for social housing.
Academics say that England suffers about 4.3 million households and that there are records of a record number of temporary accommodation. Labor promised to build 1.5 million new property before the next general election, but analysts doubt whether this goal can be achieved.
