Amberpet STP inaugurated; foundation laid for 39 STPs to treat sewage in ORR laid 

Haydarabad’s sewage system received a support on Sunday with the opening of six sewage treatment facilities (STP) by Prime Minister A. Revanth Redy. Amberpet STP with a capacity of 212.5 million liters per day.

The other five are Attapur (64 mLD), Kukatpally Mullakatwa Cheruvu (25 mld), Shivalayanagar (14 mld), Qutbullapur (10 mld) vennelagadda and serilling (7 mld) palapite.

However, the city currently has 45 STPs that can perform 1,950 mLD sewage treatment on the larger Hyderabad Municipal Company (GHMC). The three plants with a combined capacity of 113.5 mLD are expected to be ready next month.

Mr. Redy also put the cornerstones for 39 new STPs under the task of rejuvenation and urban transformation for the urban local organs around the outer ring road. The aim is to treat the 972 mLD sewage produced there.

According to the main plan of the Haydarabad metropolitan water supply and the main plan of the Sewerage Board, the sewerage produced in 2021 is 1,950 mLD and is estimated to increase to 2,800 by 2036.

In order to prevent the sewage from entering Musi, the authorities announced that a detailed project report is ready to lay the body lines at a cost of 4,700 crore.
