Over 5 lakh applications received so far for 35,726 teacher posts in Bengal schools: WBSSC

A senior official said in a statement on Thursday that more than 5 Lakh nominations applied to the task of 35,726 assistant teachers operated by the state in West Bengal and in auxiliary schools.

An online application portal was launched on June 16 to facilitate the process, and the original date of July 14 extended until 21 July.

Siddhartha Majumdar, President of the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC), said, “We expect the figure to rise.”

On May 30, WBSSC issued a notification for the recruitment of 35,726 auxiliary teachers for 9-12 classes in Run schools under a Supreme Court Directive.
