AFL icon Nicky Winmar to contest assault charges

Former AFL star Nicky Winmar will appeal the criminal allegations about attacking and drowning on a woman.
60 -year -old Neil Elvis ‘Nicky’ Winmar, on Tuesday, brought the Melbourne Magistrate Court to the forefront for a hearing.
The former footballer appeared on bail and video connection.
The court heard that Mr. Winmar aimed to subject a penal offenses to a competition hearing.
Mr. Winmar was accused of an attack, a female attack, and intentionally drowning, drowning or drowning without legal excuse, an attack on an alleged incident in July this year.
At a hearing held in August, the court told Mr. Winmar that he was “enthusiasticly engaged in bail and the presidency was presented with a“ very valuable ”“ perfect report ”.
Mr. Winmar is expected to return to the court on November 21st for a hearing on criminal allegations.
Former St Kilda and Western Bulldogs player is a member of the Australian Football Honor List, as well as a member of the WA Football Honor List.
During a match in Melbourne in 1993, his attitude towards racist abuse became an iconic image for the Australians. AN was used as a bronze statue outside Perth’s Afl stadium.
In March, Mr. Winmar was asked to establish a turning point brought by other retired domestic players in the Supreme Court.
