Melania Trump reveals talks with PUTIN… leading to eight children being reunited with families in past 24 hours

First Lady Melania Trump revealed Friday that she has spoken directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin over the past several months about the welfare of children in Europe who were separated from their families during the war in Ukraine.
“President Putin and I have an open channel of communication regarding the welfare of these children,” he said in a statement from the White House, adding that “eight children were reunited with their families in the last 24 hours.”
‘Over the past three months both parties have participated in various back-channel meetings and calls, all in good faith. We have decided to cooperate with each other for the benefit of all involved in this war.’
Melania, who grew up in the shadow of the Russian dictatorship, said that she met with Putin’s representative about all the children suffering because of this war.
“A lot has improved since Putin received my letter,” he said, referring to the note President Trump hand-delivered to Putin during the summit in Alaska in August, stating that “it is time to protect the innocence of these children.”
‘Since then, President Putin and I have had an open channel regarding the welfare of these children.’
‘Each of these children has lived through the trauma of war,’ the First Lady said. ‘The three were separated from their parents due to fighting at the front and resettled in the Russian Federation. The other five were separated across international borders due to ongoing conflict. One young girl in particular has now been reunited with her family after traveling from Ukraine to Russia.’
This positive development comes as Trump prepares to fly to Egypt in the coming days after signing a historic peace agreement. As of now, despite the President’s efforts, the Russia-Ukraine war remains an overwhelming conflict, with the front lines largely at a standstill but intense fighting continuing, especially in eastern Ukraine.
Both sides face heavy losses, and international efforts to achieve negotiated peace have yet to yield meaningful progress.

Before leaving, Melania outlined all the progress she had made so far in her short five-minute speech, without taking any questions.
Through close coordination with the Russian Federation, he received detailed biographies and photographs of every child who participated in this week’s verification.
The documents also included an overview of the social, medical and psychological services provided to these children.
“I am encouraged by the transparency shown by the Russian Federation,” Melania said. ‘They have demonstrated a willingness to disclose objective and detailed information reflecting the current situation. ‘This kind of collaboration is essential if we want to bring lasting results to the lives of these children.’
Melania announced that a comprehensive report confirming the identities and experiences of these eight children was jointly published by the Commissioner for Human Rights of Ukraine and the Office of the Presidential Commissar for the Rights of the Child of Russia.
The report was reviewed and approved by the United States government.
Melania also expressed concern about people who were minors when they were displaced but reached adulthood while residing in the Russian Federation.
‘Given the dangers of navigating an area still affected by war, the safe return of these individuals requires coordinated assistance,’ he said.
In response to his advocacy, the Russian Federation agreed to begin facilitating the return of young adults who have reached the age of 18 within a short period of time.
“This is an ongoing effort,” Melania confirmed. ‘Plans are already in place to reunite more children in the near future. ‘Every child deserves the comfort of family and the hope of a peaceful tomorrow.’

Melania Trump was born Melanija Knavs in Sevnica, a small town in the former Yugoslavia (now Slovenia). He grew up under a communist regime during the Cold War. Like many families living in countries close to the Iron Curtain, Melania said she understands the limitations of a controlled society and how a country like Russia operates.
Talks between Trump and Putin appear to have stalled since the world watched with excitement as the two world leaders met in Alaska on August 15.
Although both leaders made optimistic statements at the summit, which was declared a potential turning point, the meeting ended without any concrete agreement.
While Putin insisted that a permanent ceasefire would require eliminating the ‘root causes’ of the conflict, Trump acknowledged that he was ‘agreed’ on many points but that a ‘major’ sticking point remained.
