BJP State Spokesperson Dr. Vinusha Reddy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to announce at least four new projects coming to the state, all at Orvakal industrial hub in the district, at a public meeting in Kurnool on October 16. Hindu On Monday, October 13, 2025.

Dr. Vinusha Reddy said a Japan-based semiconductor manufacturing unit, an EV park and Reliance will invest in the Orvakal industrial hub, providing the much-needed impetus for the development of Kurnool and the region. “The announcements are just the beginning of Mr. Narendra Modi-led development in the state,” Ms. Reddy said.

Dr. According to Vinusha Reddy, Japan’s Yitoa Micro Technology Limited along with its joint venture partner IndiChip Semi-Conductors will invest ₹14,000 crore, providing 2,000 direct jobs and 10,000 indirect jobs. “The other investment in Orvakal industrial center is EV Park, which will be made on 1,200 acres of land with an investment of ₹13,000 crore,” he said, adding that this facility will provide employment to more than 11,000 people.

The Prime Minister also said that he will launch Drone City located on 300 acres of land in Orvakal industrial hub and will also announce that Reliance Consumer Products will invest Rs 750 million in the centre.

Dr. Vinusha Reddy said Kurnool lost the opportunity to become the Capital of the State and remained backward for decades. “It is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership that has secured the three economic corridors to the state and the Orvakal node in Hyderabad. The Bengaluru corridor is one of them. The state has 11 central institutions and the national highway network in the state has doubled since 2014,” he said.

About the GST reforms, he said reduction in tax rate will help people save money and reduction in taxes on desirable items like television sets, bicycles, real estate, cement and iron will lead to increase in production as people will tend to buy them. “This encourages the growth cycle,” he added.

Hailing the steps taken by the Narendra Modi government to accelerate development in the State, Dr. Vinusha Reddy criticized the previous Jagan Mohan Reddy government for its unbalanced policies that led to slow progress of Amaravati capital and Polavaram irrigation project works.

Dr. Vinusha Reddy also criticized YSRCP and its leader for opposing the State government’s proposal to build medical colleges in PPP mode. “PPP is not new and Aarogyasri and fee reimbursement are nothing but PPP models introduced by former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, father of Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Is Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy opposing his own father’s policies? The government will not privatize medical colleges and burden the poor,” he said.

Regarding the fake liquor issue in the state, the BJP spokesperson said that the mafia has flourished since the last four years and has its roots in the previous government. “Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy wants to be relevant and is making up lies to defame the government,” he alleged.
