SPG 2025: Over 700 global energy experts to convene in Jaipur for petroleum conference
More than 700 delegates from more than 10 countries, comprising scientists, academics, technologists, energy professionals, technology innovators and service providers, will gather at the 15th Biennial International Society of Petroleum Geophysicists (SPG) Conference and Exhibition in Jaipur later this month.
According to a statement made on Friday, the conference will be held between 26-28 October 2025 at Novotel Jaipur Convention Center and Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center (JECC).
The congress, organized under the theme “From Rock to Cloud: Geo-Exploration Powering the Energy Evolution”, comes at a crucial time when India is reviving its deep-water exploration mission and expanding its search for new hydrocarbon frontiers to ensure long-term energy security.
“As India’s energy demand is projected to almost double by 2040, the country’s production sector is focused on unlocking the immense potential of its offshore and deepwater basins. SPG 2025 is a premier venue to discuss the latest geophysical technologies, data-driven exploration strategies and digital innovations that are transforming the exploration landscape and strengthening India’s energy self-reliance,” the statement said. “It will serve as a global platform,” he said.
The technical program will cover the entire exploration value chain, from Seismic Acquisition, Imaging and Reservoir Characterization to Digital Geophysics, Cloud Data Analytics and AI-Driven Subsurface Modeling. There will be a particular focus on deep water exploration case studies, advances in seismic processing and emerging geoscientific research shaping the future of exploration.
‘SPG will serve as a live technology showcase’
The SPG 2025 Exhibition will serve as a live technology showcase featuring AI-powered interpretation tools, cloud-based data ecosystems, and high-performance computing platforms designed to reduce discovery cycle time and increase forecast accuracy, the statement said.
The event will also feature a Geological Science Career Symposium connecting top energy firms with emerging talent, a Business Program encouraging collaboration between industry and technology providers, and Continuing Education Courses led by global experts in deepwater geology and digital transformation.
