We Must Liberate From Foreign Influence To Access Our Knowledge Tradition: Mohan Bhagwat

Mumbai: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said Indians must free themselves from the “foreign influence” of the “Macaulay Knowledge System” to access the country’s own knowledge tradition and understand its importance.
Addressing a meeting in Mumbai during the release of the ‘Arya Yug’ Volume, Bhagwat argued that all Indians were educated under the Macaulay System of Knowledge and therefore “our minds and intellects are alienated”. Bhagwat said, “We were not educated in the Indian system. We were educated in the Macaulay Knowledge System (MKS). Our origin, foundation and knowledge-seeking mind were formed accordingly. They say we are colonial. We are Indians, but our mind and intelligence have become alienated. We must completely free ourselves from this foreign influence. Only then can we access our tradition of knowledge and understand its importance.” he said.
“Meanwhile, if the rest of the world has made progress, we must understand and appreciate the secret of their progress. We must be able to accept what is good and discard what is useless.” Moreover, Bhagwat said that the world witnessed through “Jnanendriyas” (sense organs through which we perceive the information of the world) is also based on instructions from the human mind. He added that it is necessary to go beyond the “physical brain” to perceive “reality”.
“Modern science has also concluded that what we see from our Jnanendriyas (five sense organs) is based on aspects from our mind. But what we actually see is not true. We humans see seven colors. I am a veterinarian and I know that a dog can see only two colors and a chicken can see only three colors,” Bhagwat said. he said. “A dog cannot agree with a human about how many colors it sees. We cannot know what reality is unless we go beyond our physical brain. Modern science says we can,” Bhagwat added.
